Historical sketches of female mite societies (independent benevolent societies that supported home and foreign missions) based in Beaufort, Charleston, Greenville, and Lawtonville (present-day Estill), South Carolina; incomplete list of female mite societies in South Carolina; and typescript copy of the constitution, membership roll, and minutes of the Mt. Moriah Female Missionary and Benevolent Society (based in present-day Greenwood County), 1832-1844. Materials were compiled by Loulie Latimer Owens, presumably in conjunction with her research on South Carolina Baptist women in missions.
